Timbertech Advanced PVC Decking
For low maintenance decks, we exclusively use Timbertech Advanced PVC. This is our top recommendation.

It just needs occasional cleaning with soap and water. No staining, no sealing, no sanding. We've worked with many decking materials over 20 years, and Timbertech Advanced PVC consistently outperforms other products in Wisconsin's climate.
KDAT Framing Lumber
Regardless of which decking material you choose, we build the structure underneath with KDAT (Kiln Dried After Treatment) framing lumber. This is a significant upgrade over standard pressure treated framing.
Traditional pressure treated lumber is wet when it leaves the treatment facility. As it dries over time, it shrinks, warps, and twists. This causes deck boards to become uneven, fasteners to loosen, and structural problems to develop.
KDAT lumber is kiln dried after treatment. That means it's already dimensionally stable when we build with it. It won't shrink or warp significantly after installation.
The results you get:
- Straighter framing that stays level
- Tighter joints that don't separate
- Fewer long term problems
- A more durable deck structure
The dimensional stability of KDAT lumber means fewer callbacks and a deck that performs better for years. It costs slightly more than standard treated lumber, but the improved performance is worth it. We use KDAT framing on every deck we build because we've seen the difference it makes.
